Passive Smoking
The funny thing about passive smoking is that many smokers don't even know that it exists.
Passive smoking is the process by which other people - mainly non-smokers - are poisoned by the
cigarette smoke that spreads around the room - and around the house or office - when you smoke. The sad thing about
this is that passive smoking can be just as harmful as active smoking - and there have been cases of
people getting cancer from passive smoking.
And young children are particularly susceptible to the effects of cigarette smoke. And what about pregnant
women? And people with breathing difficulties? What about people who suffer from asthma? Is your habit more
important than their well-being?
The Effects of Smoking: Think of Others!
So the next time you smoke in the company of other people, you need to be aware that you are not just putting
yourself in danger, but them as well. A very strange gift indeed to pass on to your loved ones, or your colleagues
at work!
So if not for yourself, then at least for your family, friends and colleagues, you ought to try and give up the
habit.
Although passive smoking is at the end of the list, it should be the most important reason for
you to stop smoking. Isn't it a very selfish way to live - not bothering about the safety and well-being of others,
just because you want to indulge in a pleasure of yours?
